Sweetheart Ball:
The Sweetheart Ball, an elegant evening of dinner and dancing, will be held on Friday, February 13, 2009 from 6:30pm-11:00pm at the Folsom Community Center. This exclusive event will feature gourmet cuisine, silent and live auctions and live entertainment from the highly acclaimed Hip Service (recipients of the 2006 Stammy Award for "Best Dance Band").
This unique event, dedicated to supporting services for families and youth in the local area, is a night when "sweet" hearts can give back to their community. The Sweetheart Ball is a joint effort of the Folsom Cordova Community Partnership (the Partnership) and the Folsom Cordova Unified School District (FCUSD).
Proceeds from the event will support the Helping Hand Fund which addresses unmet needs of FCUSD students and families in the Folsom and Rancho Cordova communities. Additional funds will enhance existing services of the Partnership which include Roots and Horizons mentoring program (mentoring children of prisoners), CAKe after-school and recreational activities, REACH Youth Development Program, Birth and Beyond Community Response, Effective Parenting Initiative, SETA Safety-Net Services program and SMUD's Energy Help Program.
